Reviews on the movie “Lean on Me”

The movie "Lean on me" was primarily centered on the African American community featuring Morgan Freeman as the real -life school principal Joe Louis Clark of East side high . The story unfolds when Principal Clark gets transferred to another school . The school falls into ruin in his absence with Rampant vandalism prevailing which was evident on the defaced school walls covered with graffiti . The screams and horrors of bullying echo through the hallways, portrayed with appropriate background actions and sound effects while drugs are dealt in the silent corners. The protagonist of the story returns to bring order in this school at Mr.Napier's request to make the school pass the Basic Skills test.   After expelling the rogue students , the school resurged . This was illustrated with relevant actions and props such as painting the school walls , sticking posters to get the students into the school spirit etc . Mr.Clark faces severe opposition due to his stringent methods . When Thomas Sams , one of the rogues , makes a vow to Mr.clark to change his ways , the  rooftop becomes a poignant setting with suitable dialogues which adds more depth to the scene. He then prepares the students for a mock test hoping to see his efforts bear some fruits.

He continues to spend his time addressing the student's needs . One such instance is when Kaneesha is kicked out of her house , he along with Ms. Levias intervenes and talks to her mother and offers to aid them . This scene shows the typical African American neighborhood, adding a cultural touch . He increased the school security with chained doors and securities

The result of the mock test arrived and he was devastated when he saw the pass percentage to be only 33% . He gathered the staff and urged them to work harder than this because these children need the education to prove their capabilities  and the pride of the students rests on this result.

They begin to work harder than before , introducing new efficient methods to teach the children . They started to deliver printed t-shirts to the students bearing the quote    "Take no prisoners" ,which was proudly worn by many students throughout the movie. Furthermore , their pride for the school was conveyed through their new and refined school song ,praising the might of eastside high  . This musical addition adds a cinematic touch.

On the day of the test , Principal Clark addresses the gathering with gratitude and encourages the students to take this test to prove their worth. The theme song "Lean on Me" fills the atmosphere with unity.

Principal Clark gets arrested because of Mrs.Barrett , mother of one of the expelled students. She falsely accuses him of locking the students and also that he is against the blacks in an effort to dismiss as the principal. He is locked up in prison . The next morning the entire Eastside High came together to revolt against his arrest chanting "Free Mr.Clark". The scene where the students move towards the Mayor’s office is portrayed beautifully with the correct lighting , "the students rose together just like the sun". This powerful moment in the film symbolizes the unity and solidarity among the students of Eastside High School, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.Amidst the chaos the Ms.Levias comes running to deliver the test results to Mr.clark . The school has passed and they all rejoice as he announces the victory. The principal saved the school from ruins and thus the story ends . Overall the movie is good including  the storyline and  the cinematography and is worth watching.
